Helping the underbanked through payroll services

About

1 in 5 Americans is paid through ADP payroll services – many of which are underbanked and using expensive, unregulated alternative financial services, like payday loans. This presents a unique opportunity for ADP to help shape the financial well-being of a largely underserved population.

This 7 week engagement focused the research in service of optimizing an existing Wisely App experience and helping shape future opportunities for the Wisely product ecosystem.

The Ask

ADP approached Fjord seeking to enhance their payroll differentiation and offer compelling services to address the needs of an untapped market for their service, Wisely.

The challenge from the client required two tracks of work – near term UX ‘quick wins’ as well as longer term future-state explorations for the future of Wisely, both would be informed by our research.

My Role

For this project I was responsible for leading the research that would be needed to identify quick win features as well as bigger financial ecosystem ideas. After research I helped lead the design of key features and the future-state ideas.

I played a supporting role in the UI and branding of this project.
